My heart goes out to this family and their struggle. Often, even in smaller things, it is hard to know whether to follow your "pastor" or not. I have a son the same age as what Debbie would have been. He's 25 now and I am a grandmother. I think about

Please don't give the impression that all churches
that believe God can and does heal, also is against doctors, that is truely not the case, while we believe and have seen God heal cancer and even Aids, we also know that God is sovereign and there are reasons for why and when God heals without doctors and
when He chooses to work thru doctors, and there are reasons why healing may not
occur, I have lost loved ones to sickness, and while it's too long of a story to put here, I know
that God knew it was for this one loved ones best for things to happen as they did for they were ready to meet God at that time, but if they had been healed it seemed possible (from past history) that they would have eventally went back to their
old ways and have been lost eternally. God loves us all, and therefore He tries to work things out in our lives so we have the best possible chance of following His truth and being saved for eternity.

My heart goes out to Debbie's family. My husband and I struggled with making right decisions about our beautiful daughter's leukemia struggle....to have a bone marrow transplant or not...I was more inclined than hubby to 'just trust God' and not put her
through more treatments, which were not doing anything for her. I knew the transplant was a horrendous ordeal, and didn't want it. She didn't either, so we agreed on that. Then the doc said she wasn't a good candidate for it. We were greatly relieved. B
t I understand the trauma your family went through, because you want to be faithful to trusting TOTALLY in God's word, hut you have these 'other voices' urging you to do something else. NOTHING WE DID could save our Sharman, but I have known several who
ave beat cancer and prayer seemed to be the only thing they had going for them. I do believe that you made a wise exit from that 'church'. Too many such groups have taken authority and power on themselves, and thus become cults.
May God heal your deep wounds soon....mine still aren't healed, but it's daily provision and trust in His goodness that I seek.

My parents joined the church in 1979, and while my mother still attends sometimes with my step-father, my dad, sister and I chose to stop attending back in 1990. I realized a long time ago that while I felt proud in knowing I came frome a "special" grou
of people, that those in charge of us people were nothing more than human themselves. There was no proof in my mind that we were in the "true church" or that these ministers and others in charge were speaking directly from God. There is no way to know th
t. You have to take them at face value, and rely more on the scriptures if you want to be fulfilled. We have no way on knowing whether these people spoke from God, or from satan. And I think to believe that God would punish you for taking your child to a
